Friday morning’s car ride was very bumpy as we tried to get going at the designated time. Of course it’s Friday and anything is possible. After each child was quietly seated in their seat off we went. My only young lady in the group mentioned that one of the children from her class threw a glue stick at her the day before in class and although it did not hurt her, it hurt her heart.
As we were driving along I listened and asked if the boy apologized for his rudeness, she mumbled that it was by accident, he was attempting to throw it at a friend and it landed on her head. So I had to ask how she reacted and she said well I left class a little early and went to the bathroom to cry. That of course broke my heart. I had to probe just a little bit more so I asked if she had a friend in the class she answered yes, the friend followed her to the bathroom to calm her down and back to class.
I thought okay it will be fine, so I reminded her to be thankful in all things. She responded by saying it hurt her heart and made her roll-coaster drop, the boys listened quietly with nothing to offer and finally my son says well look at this way, roll-coasters are meant to be ridden right? She responded yes but mine are bumpy all the time, without the slightest hesitation my son answered yes but those are the funnest rides.
