I’m all about stealing back time and if it’s broken, my goal for my family is to fix it, which means I simply refuse to duplicate my efforts when doing chores, when working, when running errands , I refuse to duplicate what I’m doing regardless of what I’m doing. In living life in this manner it grants me the opportunity to (1) manage my time and (2) not my expand my energy doing useless stuff (3) which means I spend the time I save on what I want to do. It shifts the balance from running around like a mad Woman all day to working a Mom that is in control of her life.
My ideas my not work for everyone simply because I require some order in my daily life and I’m passionate about making time to spend with the family, making time to spend in my flower bed, making time to read or possibly making time to sew. Regardless of the event I want to make time for it. Tomorrow is not promised so I have to live in the now and not in maybe tomorrow or I will not do what I want to do.
Most days the children like to take their lunch, so it’s important to post somewhere on the fridge a copy of the school menu and capture a copy of the menu on our phones. It’s a quick and easy means of making sure that the grocery list for the week accommodates the lunch menu.
Each child has two lunch boxes, you can fix ahead, but I stick to two days at time, solicit your child to help you fix their lunch with fruit, water, veggie pack found in the produce area, a sandwich and a snack. In soliciting my children to help they know exactly what is in their box and their prepared for two days. To direct my time elsewhere on Monday and Tuesday evenings, the lunch boxes are packed Sunday evening. The next morning on the way out the door it’s simply a matter of grabbing the box and heading out the door.
It simply takes the stress out of morning madness and each child feels a little in control of what is going in their bellies with some direction and help from Mom of course.
