It’s amazing to me how some of the simple stuff we played with when we were children seems to be vanishing. Growing up I so wanted a doll of my very own doll with her house to live in. There we five children four girls, one boy the funds were not available for my parents to entertain the idea of a house with the doll. I was happy to get the doll but no house, so for hours I would sift through the JC Penney and Sears catalog creating a collage of what my perfect doll house would look like if my wish was granted.
Well that wish was not truly granted until years later when I could afford to buy one for my daughter spend countless hours furnishing it with simple things around the house. Turned out my daughter was such a rebel that playing with dolls was short lived? But for the Sunday afternoon’s that we spent deciding on colors and which rooms to furnish brings back such fond memories off simply enjoying time with my daughter.
She’s now a young lady and although it was not a perfect world, she recalls the time spent together simply enjoying each other’s company while working on the doll house. All that being said we’re going shopping for that perfect doll and that perfect doll house for my eight year old niece. The goal is simple to create some magic in her life.
