I was telling my sister how important it was to create new memories with the children and why it was important to have those memories to look back on. Now memories are fun they become some type of gateway to remind us that we were once geeks, jocks, whatever. When we visit memory lane we remembered the summers spent on the porch playing jacks with friends.
We remember the summer’s spent playing hopscotch until the late hours of the day, the days we were dropped off at the mall to play at the arcade, with a few dollars, once your funds were depleted you learned how to make new friends quickly. Of course Ms. Pac-man was such a fan favorite that if you practiced long enough your quarter went a long way.
There was the time we would visit the roller rink and if you were like me and could not skate you would simply bop your head to the music while the other kids did some move that took skills.
The boom box required some type of wheel barrel to drag around but we managed to carry it all around the neighborhood with no assistance. Friday evenings were the dance off party you practiced all week in hopes of not looking like a complete dork.
Remember when we had no cell phones so you mysteriously knew what time to get home for dinner and if you were not home in time, well the paddle became a friend to your butt?
Ahhh the old times, remember when great visit down memory lane!
